Our History
At the age of 25, Eugen Hollaender moved from Germany to Apeldoorn. In 1931, he started his company in a small shed, producing and selling razor blades. This marked the birth of the Apeldoornse Messenfabriek.
The name was abbreviated to A-Me-Fa (Amefa).

1945
Growth and Expansion
As demand increased, Amefa quickly grew from a small local workshop into a respected manufacturer. What began with razor blades soon expanded into a broader range of cutting tools and household essentials. The company embraced innovation early on, investing in modern production methods and setting the foundation for long-term success.

A Global Brand Emerges
In the decades that followed, Amefa evolved from a Dutch family business into an international brand. With partnerships and subsidiaries across Europe and beyond, the company introduced a diverse portfolio of cutlery, kitchen tools and tableware. Each product reflected Amefa’s commitment to quality, craftsmanship and contemporary design.
